Matcha originated in China during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), where it became popular among the elite Buddhist monks as a ceremonial beverage due to its ability to help them maintain focus during long meditation sessions.

Soon after, the Japanese learned about Matcha and brought it to their country in the 12th century where they developed their own unique way of growing, processing and drinking it.

Over time, Matcha became an integral part of Japanese tea culture, and it is now enjoyed by people all over the world for its delicious taste and numerous health benefits.
